Description

The club room and stables, built in 1882, are located at the rear of the Ossington Hotel in Newark on Trent and were designed by Ernest George & Peto for Viscountess Ossington. The building is constructed of brick with blue brick detailing, a plain tile roof, and tile-hung gables. It is two storeys high with an attic and is three bays wide. The left side features two large, jettied gables. The left gable has a pair of altered glazed doors with sidelights, and above them a weatherboarded gallery with a segmental arch. An external staircase with a gabled tile roof and weatherboarded gable leads to a close-boarded door with a double sidelight, and a fixed window with glazing bars nearby. The right gable has an eight-light strip window with glazing bars, and a central close-boarded door is positioned above and below it. The stable range to the right has a central pair of close-boarded doors with sidelights, now boarded up.
