Description

The right gatepier and lantern to Wolferton Station, built in 1897, is a notable structure. It is one of a pair of gatepiers. The gatepier is made of brick and features a stone cap, which is topped by a cast iron lantern mounted on a thick, twisted stem. The lantern has four splayed faces, each adorned with a parapet displaying the Royal achievement, and the lantern is finished with a finial shaped like a crown. This structure is included for its group value.
