Description
Misterton Station House and outbuildings, built around 1875, was originally a railway station. The structure is made of gault brick with red brick, blue brick, and stone dressings, topped with a slate roof. It features one side wall, one ridge, and one gable stack. A blue brick plinth and four red brick bands enhance its two-storey, four-bay T plan design.
The gabled wing on the left has paired glazing bar sashes on both floors, each with red brick segmental heads. To the left, there is a one-storey lean-to with a single glazing bar sash featuring a segmental head, and a flat-roofed extension with another single glazing bar sash that has a square head.
The main range on the right includes a central blocked doorway flanked by single sashes. Above this, there is a glazed timber canopy with a decorative valance, and two more sashes along with a central 20th-century casement. All sashes have segmental heads and glazing bars.
To the right, the ticket office is a one-storey, one-bay structure with a slate roof and a single gable stack. It has a paired glazing bar sash with a segmental head and a close-boarded door in the return wall. Further right, the toilet block has a flat roof with a stepped stone-coped parapet and dentillated eaves. This one-storey, one-bay block features two segmental-headed doors. The rear elevation retains much of its original 19th-century fenestration, similar to the front.
