Description
This is a house dating from the 17th century, with possible additions from the 18th century. It is constructed of brick, with a colourwashed finish, and has a steep-pitched pantiled roof, dentillated eaves, one off-centre ridge, and a gable stack. The house is two-and-a-half stories and has four bays. The front facade is irregular; to the left is an 18th-century plank door set within a timber frame, flanked by single 20th-century two-light casements. To the right of that is a close-boarded door in a timber surround, and beyond that a round-headed fixed glazing bar window. Above these windows are two Yorkshire sash windows. The west gable has a plank door to the left and a blocked opening to the right. Above are a close-boarded loft door and a brick eaves band. A brick lean-to addition at the rear, dating from the 18th century, has a catslide pantiled roof and a central half-glazed door. Internally, the house features back-to-back fireplaces with heavy bressummers.
