Description

No 11 on High Street is a house built around 1800. It is constructed of brick and rendered, with 19th and 20th century pantiled roofs. The gables are stone-coped and feature kneelers, and there are three gable and two ridge stacks. The building has a first floor band and dentillated eaves, and it is two storeys high with garrets, arranged in a five-bay L-plan.

The central entrance features a reeded and panelled doorcase with decorative paterae and a moulded cornice. The six-panelled door has a geometrical overlight and is flanked by two plain sash windows. Above this, there are five plain sash windows, all with stone sills. The left gable includes a 20th century glazed door, while both gables have single two-light Yorkshire sashes in the garrets.

At the rear, there is a 19th century panelled door set in a moulded doorcase, which is sheltered by a 20th century glazed porch. To the right of this door, there is a single plain sash window, followed by a 20th century bay window with three plain sashes. Above, there are two glazing bar sashes and one plain sash.

The property is enclosed by 19th century cast-iron spearhead railings and a gate that is approximately 15 metres long. To the left, there is a 19th century gault brick boundary wall with terracotta coping, featuring four square piers topped with ashlar caps and 20th century metal gates.
