Description

The Misterton War Memorial is a granite structure featuring a Celtic cross-head atop a tapering shaft. This shaft rises from a rough plinth, with the front face displaying a smooth panel that bears the inscription "TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN EVERLASTING REMEMBRANCE/ 1914-1918," which lists 23 names. Above this, on the upper stage of a shallow two-step base, is the inscription "THEY DIED THAT WE MAY LIVE. MAY WE BE WORTHY OF THEIR SACRIFICE." The base of the shaft also includes the inscription "THESE ALSO GAVE THEIR LIVES 1939-1945," which lists 6 names. The memorial is framed by short stone pillars that support a chain.

In 2015, the area surrounding the memorial was redesigned, and an outer concrete kerb and paving were added. However, these features are not considered to have special architectural or historic interest and are excluded from the listing.
