Description

This is an 18th-century brick house with a 20th-century pantiled roof, located on Debdhill Road. The house has a stone plinth and stone sills, rendered lintels, and timber eaves with modillion details. Features two coped gables with kneelers; the right gable has wall ties inscribed with the initials ‘J.H.’ The building is two storeys high plus garrets, and originally comprised three bays in an "L" shape. The central entrance is framed by a moulded and panelled doorcase with fish scale textured curved brackets, a keystone, and a dentillated triangular pediment, sheltering a panelled door. This is flanked by single, multi-paned sash windows. Above, three similar sash windows are positioned. A 20th-century brick lean-to extension with a pantiled roof is located on the left side, while the right side has a panelled door with a segmental head and a 20th-century casement window. Above are a single multi-paned sash with a segmental head, and a single casement window. The rear elevation features a mix of 18th and 20th-century windows, including a number of multi-paned sashes with segmental heads. The interior includes an 18th-century open-well staircase with turned balusters and a scrolled handrail. There are two fireplaces, both with 18th-century timber surrounds featuring brackets and surface texturing that match the doorcase. A dentillated frieze is found in the drawing room, along with three 18th-century doors.
