Description

This is a cottage, originally built as a gate lodge for Park House, now known as Snettisham House. It dates to 1867 and was designed by Jonas Chilvers. The cottage is constructed of carstone with gault brick dressings and has a fish-scaled slated roof. It is three bays wide and single-storied, designed in a Gothic style.

The south-facing facade is symmetrical, with two two-light casement windows. A central porch features a raised and fielded six-panel Gothic door with tracery, and has gables above with a datestone, barge-boards, and a finial. Brick rusticated dressings are present around the openings, and there are angle quoins.

The north-west gable, facing Lynn Road, has a bow window with a central two-light casement and canted sides with single casements, all with brick dressings and a slated roof. North-west and south-east gables have barge boards and crested slate ridge tiles. A central chimney stack has two diamond-patterned brick shafts. A 20th-century addition is located to the north-east of the rear of the cottage.
