Description
14 and 15 Lynn Road are a pair of estate cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from small carstone with red brick dressings and feature a plain tile roof. The cottages have four bays and are one and a half storeys high, with a central axial stack that has six linked shafts. The third bay has a gable facing the road, while the outer bays contain doorways with ledged and battened doors. The windows have cast iron lattice glazing bars, with the ground floor of bays two and three featuring three-light casements, and the first floor of the same bays having two-light casements, including a gabled half dormer in bay two. The returns also have double casements with cast iron lattice glazing bars on both the ground and first floors. These cottages are noted for being an unaltered example of mid-19th century estate cottages and hold group value within their setting.
