Description
The Coach and Horses Inn is a public house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a pantile roof, designed in a T plan. The building has two storeys and is arranged in three bays. A central two-storey gabled porch is present, with a segmental entrance that is flanked by brick pilaster strips extending to a flat brick hood. Above the door, a string course continues into the main block, dividing the storeys. There are renewed horned sash windows on either side of the entrance, with similar windows on the first floor of the porch, all featuring gauged skewback arches. The roof is gabled, with a south internal gable end stack and a partly external north stack. The gable heads and rear cross wing exhibit tumbling. The interior has been altered, but one spine beam and a rebuilt fireplace remain.
