Description
No. 51 on Yarmouth Road is a house dating from around 1800. It is built of whitewashed brick and has a slate roof, with pantiles covering the east bay. The house is two storeys high and features a complex arrangement of bays. On the ground floor, there is an elliptical bay to the left with sash windows that have glazing bars. To the right, there is a projecting two-storey bay with a similar canted bay and intact sash windows. The central entrance has a glazed door set behind a broken pediment doorcase, which is flanked by fluted pilasters and topped with a fanlight. The first floor has four sash windows with glazing bars. The building is finished with a modillion eaves cornice and has gabled roofs, with a hipped roof over the right bay. The east side of the house has five bays, including one two-storey canted bay.
