Description

The Buck Inn is a public house dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is constructed of brick and flint, with pantiled roofs. The building is composed of four distinct ranges that step down from the north. The north range is two storeys with a dormer attic, arranged in five bays. It features a central door, a three-light sash window to the right, and a canted bay to the left, both also with sash windows. The first floor has casement windows of varying dates. The north gable has kneelers and tumbled brickwork. A rebuilt south external stack is largely hidden by an 18th-century addition of two bays, which has a dormer attic. The ground floor of this addition is now a single 20th-century door and window unit. A dormer is present in the roof. A third extension is a single storey with a gabled roof and a 20th-century casement window. The fourth extension is also single-storey, with a gabled roof and a 20th-century bay window in the south gable wall.
