Description
This is a late 17th-century timber-framed house located in Lemsford, near Hatfield. The house has plaster infill between the timber framing, a brick gable end on the east side, a roughcast rear elevation, and weatherboarded 17th and 18th-century rear wings. It is two storeys high. The front elevation features two first-floor glazing bar casements and two early 19th-century sash windows on the ground floor, with a modern central bow window. The first floor exhibits thin exposed timber framing with diagonal braces. A moulded wooden eaves cornice runs along the top. The roof is covered in old tiles. The rear wing has smaller glazing bar casements, varied roof shapes, and an 18th-century chimney stack.
