Symondshyde Farmhouse

Symondshyde Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century and possibly earlier, with an early to mid-19th century red brick extension to the east. The west side of the building is two storeys with attics, finished in roughcast and topped with steep plain tile roofs. A 17th-century cross wing on the west creates a half H plan. The windows are casements with glazing bars, and there are two gabled attic dormers on the central portion. To the left of the centre is an 18th-century flush panel door, which features a rectangular lobe pattern fan and an architrave frame, along with console brackets supporting the cornice hood. The east and west gable ends are adorned with wavy edged bargeboards and tall polygonal finials. The west front displays a symmetrical arrangement of glazing bar sash windows in a 1:1:1 configuration, with a slightly projecting gabled centre that has Tudor hoods over the window and door.
