Description

This is a house, comprising numbers 18 and 20 Fore Street, dating from the later 18th century. The front is built of chequered red brick over a rendered base, with a stucco band marking the position of the upper windows. The roof is steeply pitched and tiled, with square dormers. The windows are flush-sash, with three on the first floor and two on the ground floor. Number 18 has a plain door with a deep hood supported by shaped brackets. Number 20’s door features six fielded panels within a moulded surround and is flanked by three-quarter engaged Roman Doric columns, a triglyph frieze, and a dentil cornice. Brick dentilled eaves are present. A twin-shaft chimney stack rises from the west gable.
