Description

The Garden House is a mid-18th century house located on the north side of Hatfield Fore Street in Old Hatfield. It features chequered red brick on a rendered base and is two storeys high with attics. A painted band runs along the height of the porch frieze, and there is a deep wooden cornice with modillions below the parapet. The steep slate roof is adorned with three boxed casement dormers and five flush sash windows. The entrance is marked by a wooden Tuscan porch supported by two free-standing columns and pilaster responds, featuring a plain entablature and a narrow fan with crossed glazing bars.
