Description
Lower Woodside Farm is a farmhouse that dates from the 16th century and early 17th century, constructed with a timber frame. The exterior has been modernized with cement rendering. It features a steeply pitched plain tile roof with chimney stacks at both ends, and a catslide roof at the rear over a 17th-century extension. The south front has three 20th-century mullioned and transomed casement windows. On the east side, there is a rear door made of wide planks from the 18th century, framed by an architrave surround. Inside, the farmhouse includes an early 18th-century central staircase, which has a single baluster for each tread and barley-twist balusters in the attic.
