TL 20 NW HATFIELD WOODSIDE (north side)

8/217 Stable block at The Old Stables -

Stable block formerly to Woodside Place now workshop. Mid-late C18. Red brick with vitrified headers. Slate roof. 2 storeys. 3-window centre and projecting 2-window end blocks that on right built higher in C20. Centre has 3 shallow relieving arches to ground floor with 8/8-pane sash windows left and right of central entrance. 1st floor arches have 4/4-pane sashes. Central bay projects slightly and has open-pedimented gable with clock in moulded stone surround. 1st floor sill band with stone cymatium. Interior has original arched partitions with moulded wooden piers, the S side with original feed boxes.
