Description

This milepost, dating from the mid 19th century, is made of cast iron and was produced by Champness of Cheshunt. It has a triangular shape that is open at the back, featuring two front faces with slightly recessed panels that display raised lettering indicating the distances to London (26 miles) and Stevenage (5 miles). The design includes a sloping triangular head and a semicircular top panel.
