Description
The Church of St Michael and All Angels is a church built between 1899 and 1900 by architect R Weir Schultz. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof, with a belfry on the west gable end and a canted apsidal east end. The building has stone window dressings and a flush floor band. The gabled north porch displays a carving of St Michael and the dragon on the tympanum, along with large arch mouldings. The nave contains three slightly recessed four-light windows with trefoiled and chamfered surrounds, as well as single mandorla-shaped windows on the west side. The west end features triple lancets. Inside, the church has a panelled interior with a panelled wagon roof supported by tie beams. The rood screen is adorned with naturalistic leaf and fruit tracery, and there is an Arts and Crafts style font.
