Description

This milepost, located at the junction with Station Road, dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and painted white, featuring a triangular plan that is open at the back. The top panel is semicircular and inscribed with 'Datchworth Parish'. The front faces display raised Roman-style lettering painted black, indicating the distances to Stevenage (3 miles) and London (28 miles).
