Description
The sundial in the Italian garden at Moor Park, located about 30 meters northeast of the main house, dates from the early 19th century, around 1830. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a square base with rebated corners. The sundial stands 1 meter tall and has a pier with a blind round arch on each side, adorned with bead mouldings. The cornice is decorated with bead and reel to cyma moulding. The sundial itself is made of copper and is surrounded by a carved bayleaf garland. This sundial is included for its group value, as it complements other features in the garden such as urns, a fountain, putti, and the garden wall.
