Description
Coach Lane Cottage is a house incorporating a 15th-century timber-frame range and a later, 20th-century gabled bay. The front of the building is plastered, with a plain tile roof. It is two storeys high and has leaded casement windows. A 20th-century half-timbered porch features a jettied upper floor, a gable, and a square leaded oriel window on the first floor. The south elevation exhibits exposed timber framing with painted brick nogging. It has three bays, with a possible former hall in the middle bay. The rear two bays have a slightly raised roof line. An inserted 17th-century red brick stack connects with four square shafts. There are four windows, the left three being in original 16th and 17th-century openings. Inside the front bay, there is a heavy, unmoulded beam and flat joists. A former timber frame chimney stack is also present.
