Description
Forge Cottage is a cottage that was originally built as a forge in the late 17th century. It features a timber frame with red brick infill and has a plain tile roof. The original structure consists of one bay on the left side. On the ground floor, there is an 18th-century chequered brick and plank door, with a 2-light 18th-century leaded casement window to the left of the door and a similar casement window above it. The end elevation reveals an exposed clasped purlin roof. At the rear, there is a late 19th-century two-storey extension that matches the style of the original building. The right bay at the front is a 20th-century addition with a tile-hung upper floor.
