Description

The Coach House and Stable Court, located to the east of Childwick Bury Manor, was built in the 1890s. This one to three-storey courtyard block is primarily constructed of red brick with panels of knapped flint. The front elevation features patterned tile hanging on the flanking wings, and a central frontispiece that includes stone-dressed archways and a roughcast panelled upper floor. The roof is hipped and covered with machine tiles.

The front has glazing bar casements on the upper floor and sash windows on the lower floor, with three windows on either side of the frontispiece, each topped with an eaves gable. There are three central arches with banded stonework, the middle arch being wider than the others. The entrance is adorned with fine wrought iron gates, double in the centre and single on the sides, some of which have gilded ornamentation. Above the gable, there is a tile-hung wooden clock turret topped with an ogee dome.

Inside the courtyard, there is a glazed office range on the eastern side, with stable ranges located to the north and south. The roofs feature tile-hung ridge ventilators.
