5/269 Entrance gates, railings and piers at Childwick 19.9.78 Lodge

GV II

Circa 1897. Red brick and cream terracotta, matching Childwick Lodge (q.v.). 2 main gate piers, and at either side 3 smaller piers forming L-shape screens that curve around on the road frontage. Double wrought iron gates with single side gates divided by wrought iron piers. Gilded leaf ornament to each gate. The gate piers have red brick and terracotta bands, and entablatures with pulvinated friezes. Side piers are simpler.
