Description

The gate piers to Britwell Lodge date from the 19th century and are notable for their large square design. They are constructed from red brick and feature stone dressings, including stone plinths. At the top of each pier, there are pepper pot shapes crowned with a cluster of four stone 'pawns'. The entrance is flanked by cast iron railings that have thin balusters and scroll work panels, all set on a brick base with a stone top. To the left, at the end of the railing, there is a smaller square brick pier with plain stone coping.
