Description

Farnham Lodge and gates were originally part of Britwell House, dating to the late 19th century. The lodge is constructed of red brick and half-timbering, with a plain tile roof and a panelled ridge stack. The north gable end faces the drive and features a canted bay window with stone mullions and leaded lights, beneath an overhanging upper floor. This section has two casements and decorative timbering. A timbered porch is located on the side, and a similar, but less elaborate, gable is on the south side. A small projection on the east side has a half-timbered gable. The gates are positioned between four stone piers topped with pyramid caps. Iron gates are set between the piers, and curved brick screen walls extend on either side, terminating in shorter end piers.
