Description
Viccars House is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and features a plain tile roof with parapeted gable ends. The house has two storeys and attics, with three windows. The right half of the house retains original walling and some old features, while the left half mirrors the right. The outer windows are two-storey canted bays with moulded stone mullions and transoms, and square leaded casements. There is a central door with a small stair window above it, and the central stack has been removed. The house also has a moulded stone floor band and cornice, with long and short quoins at the ends and canted bays. The gable end features mullioned attics and internal late 19th-century stacks. Inside, there is an exposed floor beam on the right side of the ground floor. The house was illustrated by Buckler in 1839, showing the right side as it currently appears.
