Description

The Forge is a cottage that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tile roof that is gabled towards the street. The building has one storey and attics, along with a single storey range at the rear. The front features one window range, which includes a casement on the ground floor and a vertical sliding sash window above. There are also casement windows in the flank walls. The forge area has a red pantile roof. Inside, the cottage retains its original hearth, forge, and fittings.
