Description

This is a group of 17th-century houses located at 142 to 148 Fishpool Street. They are two-storey buildings with steeply pitched tiled roofs. Numbers 142 and 148 have boxed wood eaves cornices, while the remaining houses display exposed rafter ends.

Numbers 142 and 148 each have two windows, and numbers 144 and 146 each have one. All the first-floor windows are small sash windows with glazing bars set within slightly projecting, moulded frames. Number 142 has one sash window with glazing bars and one three-light casement window with glazing bars. Number 144 has a pivoted casement window, and numbers 146 and 148 have casement windows, all featuring very thick glazing bars and small panes of glass. The houses have plain plank front doors, each topped with a plain hood supported by curved brackets. A Dutch door is present on the left side of number 148.

Numbers 142 to 174 (even) are designated as a group.
