Description

This is a late 18th-century building with a red brick facade applied to a 17th-century house. It is two storeys high with an attic, and has two windows. The roof is steeply pitched and tiled, with a single central dormer obscured by a parapet. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within gauged, very shallow segmental brick arches. The windows are 3-light except for a single one-light window to the left of the front door on the ground floor. The window frames are flush, with moulded detailing on the first floor and plain, boxed detailing on the ground floor. A partly rendered brick plinth includes a basement window. Four steps lead to a door with four fielded panels in the upper half, set within panelled reveals. The doorcase features an open pediment with modillions and dentils, along with fluted columns. The cornice above the doorcase is similarly decorated, and there is a patterned fanlight above the door. A rear extension has a hipped, tiled roof.

The building forms a group with numbers 142 to 174 (even) on Fishpool Street.
