Description
Nos 166 and 168 on Fishpool Street is a 16th-century timber-framed house that stands two storeys high and features two windows. The exterior is plastered, with some remaining traces of pargetting on the ground floor. It has a high-pitched tiled roof with visible rafter ends and an overhanging first floor that is supported by old arch braces. The building has a brick plinth. The windows have been altered, with two-light casements on the first floor set in slightly projecting box frames, and sash windows with glazing bars on the ground floor in flush box frames. There are five steps leading up to two plain doors, with the door on the right (No 166) situated under a Tudor arch that has decorated spandrels. Nos 142 to 174 (even) are part of a group.
