Description
13 Market Place is an early 17th century timber-framed building that stands two storeys tall with an attic. It features two windows on both the north and east faces. The building has a high-pitched tiled roof with five gables on the east face, which are lower than the ridge of the roof. The north face showcases a large gable that spans the full width of the building, while the west face, facing French Row, has hipped gabled dormers. All exterior faces are now plastered. The attic storey jetties out and is supported by curved brackets, one of which is carved with the date "1637". The attic has casement windows with modern leading. The first-floor windows are 18th century sashes with glazing bars set in flush, moulded frames. The ground floor features shop fronts that date to around 1900.
