Description

No 1 Market Place is a 17th-century timber-framed house that stands three storeys tall with an attic. It features a high-pitched, tiled roof with a gabled dormer. The facade is plastered and has an overhanging second floor. The house has two and three-light casement windows that have been re-glazed with single panes and slightly project from the wall. On the ground floor, there is an earlier 20th-century shop front. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1, 3, 2, and 4 Market Place and No 18 High Street.
