Description

16 and 18 High Street is an early 19th-century building made of yellow brick, standing three storeys tall with three windows. It features a low-pitched, hipped slate roof with a deep eaves soffit. The sash windows, which have glazing bars (though some have been replaced), are topped with gauged, flat brick arches. The ground floor has modern shops. A rounded angle on the one-window return includes a shallow, recessed panel that extends through the two upper storeys, and this panel along with the return is finished in stucco. Nos 14 to 18 (even) form a group, as do Nos 18 and Nos 1, 3, 2, and 4 Market Place.
