Description
3 and 3A High Street is an early 18th-century house that has undergone some alterations in the early 19th century. The building has three storeys and an attic, featuring five windows. It has a low-pitched, hipped slate roof with two round-arched dormers and a deep eaves soffit. The walls are painted brick, accented by brick pilasters on either side that support a wooden cornice with dentils at the second-floor level, along with a brick plinth. The restored sash windows have glazing bars and are set in near-flush, moulded frames. The entrance features a reproduction door case with a shouldered architrave and keystone, set in a slightly projecting, rusticated panel. The dentilled pediment is wide enough to allow a sculptured eagle to rest on the keystone.
