Description
W J Haward is a 16th-century timber-framed building that was refaced in the mid-19th century. It has a plastered exterior and an old tile roof. The structure stands two storeys high and features two gable ends facing the street, each adorned with pierced, cusped bargeboards. There are two three-light casement windows with Tudor hood moulds, and a small, blocked attic window in the larger northern gable. The front interior reveals exposed floor beams and joists. At the rear, there is a mid-17th-century brick and timber frame extension on the north side, which has four blocked windows on its elevation and 19th-century stock brick chimneys. Additionally, there is a horizontal sash window on the east gable end. The building currently houses a modern shop.
