Description
Numbers 61 and 63, known as Meadows, is a timber-framed building from the 16th or 17th century, possibly with earlier origins. It consists of a three-bay range that stands two storeys tall along the street, featuring a taller gabled cross wing that slightly projects. The ground floor has been largely gutted for a modern shop. The exterior is rendered, with modern wood casements and old tiled roofs. The cross wing may have a king post roof structure, and the front was likely jettied. The wing was extended to the rear in brick, probably in the early 18th century. There is an external brick stack on the side. Additionally, a tall timber-framed wing projects from the rear of the front range and may have originally served as a hall range. The heavy framing of the roof structure is mostly concealed.
