Description
The Homestead is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered building with a T-shaped plan, located on the west side of Ashdon Road in Radwinter. It features two storeys and attics, with the upper storey jettied across the entire south front. This front has a two-window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The east gable end includes a two-storeyed bay also with double-hung sashes featuring glazing bars. There is a north extension, likely from the 18th century, which has casements with leaded lights and "Gothic" arches. The roofs are tiled, and the building has an original chimney stack with diagonal grouped shafts on a rectangular base for the south block, along with a square central stack for the north addition. Inside, there is an original fireplace adorned with an ornamental plaster panel.
