Description
Poplar Farmhouse is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house that has been altered and extended in the 18th century and later. The building features a central block with an extension at the east end that has a lower roof level, and another extension set back from the main front at the west end. It is two storeys high with attics, and both the main block and the extensions are jettied on the upper storey. The north front has a small bay that projects and includes two "gothic" arched lights, with a small "gothic" arched casement window above on the first storey. Most of the other windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. A long wing extends to the south at the west end. The roofs are tiled, featuring a large rectangular chimney stack on the main block and a chimney stack with grouped shafts on the south wing.
