Description
Nos 84 and 86 High Street is a house and shop that originated as part of a late medieval hall house, with alterations made in the 17th century. The facade was replaced around 1977 after partial demolition caused by a lorry. The building features a steeply pitched plain tile roof and a late 17th century red brick chimney stack at the south gable end, which has three square shafts arranged in a stepped formation. It is two storeys high, with two casement windows on the first floor and a shop on the ground floor. Inside, the ground floor has chamfer-stopped floor beams, while the upper floor includes a curved brace of an open truss positioned at right angles to the road.
