Description

This is a 17th-century timber-frame house and shop, located on the west side of Redbourn High Street. The front of the building was later clad in painted brick in the 19th century. The windows are modern replacements, and a double shop front has been installed in the 20th century. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The house is two stories high and originally featured two segmental-headed casement windows. Inside, the house has two bays with chamfer-stopped floor beams and a shallow cellar on the north side. A 17th or 18th-century rear extension projects to the north, featuring a lateral stack.
