Description

No. 83 High Street is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It features a chequered red brick front and has an exposed light timber frame on the northern gable end and in the rear extension, with red brick nogging that includes some herringbone patterns. The roof is covered with machine tiles. The house is two storeys high and has one window. To the left of the entrance, there is an early 19th-century cut bracket hood over the door, and to the right, a margin-light sash window. On the first floor, there is a segmental-headed casement window. The two-storeyed rear extension has small 18th-century iron casements on the right side of the northern elevation.
