Description
The Bell and Shears Public House is a public house that dates back to the 17th century or earlier, featuring a timber frame with a late 19th-century red brick front. The building has a plain tile roof divided into two sections, with a narrower and taller part on the left that aligns with the roof line and cornice pattern of the adjacent properties, Nos 79 and 81. It stands two storeys high and is adorned with a wooden modillioned cornice across the front. The façade includes three segmental-headed sash windows and two segmental-headed doors. Prominently positioned near the right side of the ridge is a mid-17th-century red brick chimney stack, which has six square shafts arranged in an H plan. The interior features a two-bay lobby entrance on the right and a one-bay cross wing on the left.
