Description

SOLLERSHOTT WEST 1. 5255 (north side) No 34 ('St Brighids') TL 2131 NW 10/141 II 2. 1908 by B Parker and R Unwin. House with 'butterfly' plan. Design and detailing by S Pointon-Taylor. Central octagonal garden room flanked by living room and dining room. Large studio room added at rear circa 1914 giving a Y-plan. Additions at the rear by B Parker in 1923 included a garage and a further studio. One and a half storeys. Symmetrical corner front with central gable flanked by brick chimney stacks. Tiled roofs with flat roofed dormers added 1914. Rendered walls. Mullioned casement windows with leaded lights with tiled labels. Main central entrance with wide arched doorway. Good interior joinery and fittings. (Some Houses at Letchworth, Country Life, 21.12.1912.)
