Description
Abbis Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with low extensions added to the north and rear in the 20th century. It features a timber frame that is roughcast, topped with a steeply pitched roof that is now covered with slate. This small house has one and a half storeys and faces east onto the green. The front includes two flush casement windows with two lights each and a gabled porch in the middle. There is a swept dormer at the eaves above the right-hand window, which has a segmental head and a two-light casement. Inside, there is a large internal chimney on the north gable that serves the northern half of the original two-cell house, along with a later chimney located at the southwest corner. The lower north extension also has a two-light casement window.
