Description

Holborn Farm House is a house dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and an extension added in the 20th century. It features a timber frame construction with roughcast exterior and a steeply pitched tiled roof. The original layout includes a broad three-cell lobby entry and the house is two storeys high.

To the right of the centre, there is a projecting gabled entrance porch, flanked by three-light small pane flush frame casements, with a second entrance to the left. The first floor jetties out, supported by curved brackets, and is underbuilt at both ends. On this floor, there are three two-light casements with cambered heads. The cross axial ridge stack has been rebuilt to match the original design and includes two diagonal flues. The left end of the house is rendered and has a ground floor two-light casement, while the attic is weatherboarded. The right end features a first-floor two-light casement and a weatherboarded attic.

Attached to the right is a single-storey 20th-century outshut that connects to an earlier outbuilding, which is weatherboarded and has a steeply pitched half-hipped tiled roof, consisting of two bays. The outbuilding has double doors and a smaller door at the front. The interior has not been inspected, and the 20th-century addition to the rear is of no special interest.
