Description
Dane End Cottage is a house that was once three separate dwellings, dating from the early to mid 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The cottage has a timber frame that is rendered and features a thatched roof. It has a four-cell lobby entry and a central entrance. The windows are 20th-century flush frame casements with leaded panes, arranged in one, two, and three lights. There is an axial ridge stack and a 19th-century stack on the right end, which has offsets and exposed plates. At the rear, there is an original four-light diagonal mullioned window. Inside, the cottage showcases exposed framing with curved braces and a double inglenook fireplace.
