Description

White Horse Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century. It is built with a timber frame and now has a rendered exterior. The roof is thatched and half-hipped. The house originally comprised two rooms arranged in a lobby entry plan. It has one storey and an attic. The ground floor has a central, projecting gabled porch. To the left of the porch is a small-pane horizontal sliding sash window, and to the right is a three-light casement window, both set within flush frames. Two three-light attic casements are visible beneath an eyebrow of thatch. An axial ridge stack runs along the roofline. The thatch extends to cover a lower outshut to the left, which has its own entrance. A catslide roof covers a continuous lean-to outshut at the rear, and a two-light attic casement is located in the right gable end.
